We have worked with LCL Construction on multiple projects now and they are our go to contactor in Manitoba for our hotel projects.  They pay good attention to detail and are easy to communicate with.  They are clear and transparent with progress reports, they provide monthly budget updates and their reports clearly outline the budget, progress against that budget.  It is easy to follow invoicing and track change orders and they are transparent on invoicing from sub contractors, which I appreciate.  With projects on the scale that we are working with, you cannot avoid problems, no matter who you're working with, what I look for in a contractor is a company who recognizes the problem early, reports it to me quickly and usually already has a couple options to present on how to deal with it.  If it is a problem of their own making, we have never had a problem with them not taking responsibility.  You can also tell a lot about a contractor by how organized and clean the work site is which also indicates that they take safety seriously as well.  As we look to developing other types of projects, we also like their range of experience.  So overall, we find they are very competent, communicate well, are transparent and very friendly to deal with.

Working with LCL Construction was an eye-opening experience. It’s not often you have the pleasure of working with crews as professional, talented and efficient as LCL. From the concrete crew, to the main building crew, to the finishing crew, each one showed up prepared, on time, and worked incredibly hard. The scheduling was on point and LCL never wavered from it. Over the past year it has been a pleasure working with the staff at LCL Construction.  We have appreciated their patience with us as we are a volunteer lead organization, an ownership structure that doesn’t lend itself to quick decisions. As a numbers-oriented person, I appreciated the consistent communication regarding owner driven decisions to achieve construction milestones. The weekly progress reporting that included a Gantt chart and photos was especially helpful in meeting government grant reporting requirements.
